How we use your details.

Who is responsible
Lewis Danks, trading as Sproutlet, is responsible for personal information collected on this website. The Sproutlet mobile app is in development and has a separate app privacy notice. Email hello@sprout-let.co.uk with privacy questions or requests.
Joining the interest list
When you join, we save your email, signup date, the website used and the consent wording you agreed to. Your consent lets us send occasional development and launch emails. Joining is optional and does not create an app account.
While founding places are open, we also use the signup date to allocate places. The first 50 people receive their first year free at launch.
We store the list in a private Google Sheet within our business Google Workspace account. Google Sheets and Apps Script process signups for us. We do not sell email addresses.
Comments on news articles
A news comment records the name you enter, comment text, article and date. We store an email only if you choose to add one. Your name and comment appear publicly straight away. The email stays private, is used only to reply where needed and does not subscribe you to updates.
We store comments in the same private Google Sheet. We moderate after publication and remove abusive, unlawful, off-topic or promotional posts. Use a comment's "Report" link or email hello@sprout-let.co.uk to request removal, including of your own comment. Comments remain while the article is published unless removed. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in hosting discussion.
Stopping the emails
Reply to an update or email hello@sprout-let.co.uk with "unsubscribe" to withdraw consent. We will stop the updates and remove you from the active list. Earlier lawful use remains lawful. We may keep a minimal opt-out record to avoid emailing you again by mistake.
How long we retain the list
We keep the details needed to provide the development and launch updates you requested. We review the list at least once a year and remove unneeded entries. If the project ends, we remove the active list. We ask before using the list for another purpose.
Email enquiries
We use your address and message to answer your enquiry. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to questions and developing Sproutlet. An enquiry does not subscribe you to updates.
The postcode lookup and preparation check
The landlord-register guide can find a region from a postcode. When you select "Find my region", your browser sends the postcode directly to Postcodes.io, operated by Ideal Postcodes. The provider also receives technical request details, including your IP address. Read Postcodes.io’s service information and the provider’s privacy policy. You can use the map or area menu without sending a postcode.
We do not store postcodes or preparation answers, add them to the interest list or use them for marketing. Answers stay in the open page and are not sent to Postcodes.io or Sproutlet. A refresh clears them. A printed or saved list goes to the destination you choose through your browser.
Hosting and service providers
Cloudflare hosts this website. Cloudflare and Google may process IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect their services. They may process information outside the UK under their contractual and transfer safeguards. Read Google Cloud’s privacy notice and Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Visit counts, performance and cookies
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits and page speed without cookies, browser storage, fingerprinting or tracking across sites. When a page loads, your browser sends the page address, referrer, browser and device type, and speed measurements. Cloudflare receives your IP address with the request but does not use it to identify you. We see aggregate totals. Read Cloudflare Web Analytics and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding use of the website.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics measures page visits and interactions to help us improve the website. It receives page addresses, referrers, browser and device details, and uses _ga and _ga_WYJB64YYQD cookies to distinguish visits. These cookies last up to 180 days and renew when you visit. Google Analytics stays off until you accept. Our legal basis is your consent. Read Google's privacy policy.
We remember your analytics choice in your browser for 180 days. Use Analytics choices in the footer to change it. Declining switches Google Analytics off and removes its cookies from this website. Your choice does not affect signup or access to the guides.
We do not enable advertising features or send form contents to Google Analytics. Cloudflare may set security cookies. Google processes the signup when you submit the form. Viewing the founding count does not share your details with Google or store information about you. Postcodes.io receives a postcode only when you ask for a lookup.
Privacy requests and complaints
Depending on your circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restricted use or a portable copy, or object to how we use information. Email hello@sprout-let.co.uk to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
